Creature - Kokarp

The river was wide and shallow, rising only to our knees as we crossed. The water was slow-moving and warm, heated by the rays of the sun. The Jura swam around us, playfully watching from a safe distance. Something swam between my feet as I stepped carefully over the rocks of the riverbed, something with purple scales. A Jura darted out and snatched it from the water, grabbing the fish in it's jaws before swimming off.

Approximate length : 3 feet as adult

Kokarp are an abundant, placid species of fish that inhabit almost every body of water on the planet. Despite being hunted on a daily basis, they are one of the most populous species on the planet. They have no defense against predators, aside from their moderate camouflage. Kokarp can either travel in schools, or as individuals.

The flat area of their heads is covered in cells that store sunlight as usable energy for the Kokarp, and they consume this stored energy when aquatic plants cannot be found to eat. The larger the Kokarp is, the less extra food it needs to eat, and some of the older ones can even live sustained only by sunlight.
